Angus Nicol

Having joined the Fritz Lab as a master's student in 2022, my research is focused on improving the ability of genetically modified Vibrio natriegens to degrade PET plastic. I am also more broadly interested in the advancement of sequencing technologies and the modularisation of molecular biology, to create solutions for problems spanning environmental remediation, human health and the sustainable production of industrial materials.

Outside of my academic commitments, I enjoy travelling and keeping fit by rowing, running and playing football. I also enjoy reading about nature, history, artificial intelligence and the economy.
