RUBÉN JARAMILLO SÁNCHEZ
Rubén is an industrial and environmental microbiologist from the University of Antioquia (Medellín ,Colombia) with a profound interest in renewable materials and mitigating atmospheric CO2 levels. Currently he is master student at the University of Western Australia, who joined the lab in July 2023. He is working in the project of living concrete, under the supervision of Tim Cusens and Rebecca Wolters. This project is aiming to obtain an intelligent material that has the potential to self-repair the concrete microcracking. This would decrease the need for cement production – a significant contributor to CO2 emissions.
